BEIRUT (Zawya Dow Jones)--The Iraqi oil ministry said it will put in
service a second floating terminal in the coming few months that will
boost the country's oil exports to 3.55 million barrels a day, the
state-run Kuwait News Agency, or Kuna, reports Saturday.
The ministry also intends to operate five additional oil export
floating terminals as part of its proactive plan to boost the storage
and export capacities of the country's southern ports to more than 6
million barrels a day, Asim Jihad, the oil ministry's spokesman said
according to Kuna.
The ministry's aim from this move is to keep pace with projected
increases in oil production as it had concluded major deals with
international companies in order to boost the oilfields' output to about
12 million barrels a day, he added.
